Professional Yachting Association (PYA)
PYA is the professional body for yacht crew. It is a non-profit association run for crew by crew. PYA validates sea time on yachts on behalf of MCA and provides crew with unbiased, accurate advice on their training and certification needs. Members benefit from a range of additional services such as legal advice and discounts from training providers. The association attends MCA policy meetings and is the voice of those who actually live and work onboard yachts. PYA has consulted with the yachting industry to establish a clear career path for Interior Crew, creating an industry standard of Guidelines for Unified Excellence in Service Training, GUEST. Hunters & Frankau
Established in 1790, Hunters & Frankau is the sole importer of cigars into the UK, from Cuba. Over the years they have been involved in many aspects of the Havana cigar trade. They once owned the H.Upmann and Ramon Allones cigar factories in Havana and also played a central role in the design and launch in the 1930’s of Montecristo – now the world’s bestselling Havana brand. In 1990, they were appointed by Habanos S.A. as their Exclusive Distributor for all Havana brands in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Gibraltar and the Channel Islands. Habanos SA is the Cuban company solely responsible for marketing and distributing Havanas throughout the world. So, it is pretty safe to say that what they don’t know about cigars isn’t worth knowing!
Illycaffè was founded by Francesco Illy in 1933. His 1935 invention of the illetta, considered the blueprint for modern espresso machines revolutionalized coffee preparation. Its development over the decades has been rich in research and innovation, and the brand today is synonymous with premium Italian coffee in over 140 countries worldwide under the guidance of Andrea Illy. Illy began importing into the UK in 1994 and now has over 6000 customers in the UK. Their very own university of coffee trains 100 baristas a week and is led by Illy’s Head of Quality, Marco Arrigo.
