Sarah first stepped onboard in 2003 and has since held positions from sole stew to Purser, on yachts from 30 – 90m. A qualified teacher, with experience in setting up and managing her own MCA MLC compliant business, she is well-placed to take on the training for The Crew Academy’s renown Purser Course, as well as their Management & Leadership training, both of which are independently accredited by the PYA GUEST programme.
As a graduate of the TCA Purser course herself, Sarah has a good understanding of the student experience and plenty of ideas about how to refresh the course, ensuring it remains the foremost, industry-leading course for both established and aspiring superyacht Pursers.
Having first completed a HND in Hotel Catering and Institutional Management in Oxford, Lynne has since gained more than thirty years of experience in the hospitality industry, 10 of which were served aboard luxury motor yachts and a further twenty in other yacht-related and villa management sectors. Lynne has extensive practical experience in all aspects of interior management, including departmental budgets, work rotas, acquisitions as well as supplier and staff management.
Lynne’s skills are extended through various training courses, including the Awards 2 and 3 in Food Safety in Catering as well as expertise in training in villa concierge,management and villa representation in the Alpes Maritimes, where she was dealing mainly with very discerning, wealthy international clients at the top end of the luxury rental market.
Lynne has recently become a PYA Council Member, to assist with the representation of the Interior Department, and is also a PYA GUEST approved Trainer.
Sophie has great love for teaching, hospitality, travelling, fitness and great service. She has taken her skills learnt from the last 7 years in the yachting industry to help educate, teach and better others getting into, or wanting to improve their yachting skills as a strong Leading Chief Steward/ess.
Having been with The Crew Academy since March 2017, she thoroughly enjoys training a variety of people and it’s her passion to help others continue to grow and learn.
With experience in all interior positions including Stewardess / Personal Trainer / Masseuse, Stew / PA, Sole Stew, 2nd and Chief Stew, on motor yachts ranging from 26 to 65 meters. Her strengths to train are in yacht crew in Management & Leadership, Service, Laundry, HK, Valet and Barista, Wine and Cocktails
Rebecca has worked in hospitality for well over 14yrs, and in that time, has completed 7yrs as a Design and Delivery Specialist for TRiM telecom NZ before entering in the Yachting Industry. While with Telecom NZ she Designed and Delivered training content for the call centres in both NZ and Manila.
She then moved to yachting and has spent 7yrs in the industry working her way up to Chief Stew. Becs has won the Genoa Boat Show table decoration and service award in both 2014 and 2016.
With Rebecca’s previous training knowledge and the experience combined with the knowledge from yachts, she makes a lovely addition to the training team here at The Crew Academy.
Marco worked for Illy Coffee for over two decades at the heart of the corporation. In that time, Marco developed all professional coffee training courses for Illy, both Barista and technical. He opened the University of Espresso in September 2010 and steadily trained over 100 baristas a week for four years. As Head of Quality at Illy UK, Marco looked after the brand’s leading clients and trained their staff to deliver the perfect cup of coffee in any environment. He has since opened his own bar in Soho, Bar Termini, to which he dedicates most of his time. Marco remains a solid enthusiast for training, ensuring all of his staff and students reach the highest levels of barista preparation and service.
Charlie graduated with a Biology degree from Bristol and moved to the US to be a software developer before realising the error of ways and following his true calling in the wine trade. Starting with the retailer Majestic wines in the UK to develop his knowledge, he then ran a successful independent wine shop in London for many years under the guidance of two Masters of Wine, gaining excellent knowledge of wines from around the world.
He then moved to a wine PR company representing the Port Trade in the UK as well as Oddbins, Marks and Spencer and a variety of international wine and spirit brands.
A certified WSET educator, he has led many a wine tasting and visited too many wineries around the globe to count! He has also assisted in numerous grape harvests within France and Spain to get a true understating of the wine business from grape to bottle.

Established in 1790, Hunters & Frankau has imported Havanas into the United Kingdom since cigar smoking was first enjoyed in Britain. In recent years, Hunters & Frankau have concentrated on improving the standards of knowledge and presentation in British cigar shops and now brings this expertise to the yachting community with our specialist cigar workshop and course.
SACHI FLOWERS – ‘Sachi’ studied flower art in Japan and then moved to Montreal in Canada to study French whilst at the same time working as a florist to increase her English skills. Following her move to France in 2007, she worked in a prestigious and popular flower boutique in Cannes for 4 years and then began working as a freelance florist. Her business creates floral decorations for both large and small events for weddings, hotels, boutiques and yachts. Her arrangements are original and meticulous with a refined Japanese influence, but they also encompass the classic, vintage, modern and Provençal styles.
