Alexandra’s yachting career stems over 17 years, having entered the industry in Hong Kong in 2001. She worked her way up to lead stewardess at age 19 and has worked on several high-profile motor yachts. Her career has involved many new build and refit projects throughout Italy, Spain, Holland and Egypt and she later stepped ashore and assumed the position of the shore based Interior Manager and on-board PA for the owner, until 2017. Alexandra has extensive experience in shipyard operations, consulting, interior set up, maintenance and operations, along with accounting, project management, administration, charter and crew training.


Sophie LeachRebecca Mulhern

Rebecca has worked in hospitality for well over 14yrs, and in that time, has completed 7yrs as a Design and Delivery Specialist for TRiM telecom NZ before entering in the Yachting Industry. She spent 7yrs in the Yachting Industry working her way up to Chief Stew and has won the Genoa Boat Show table decoration and service award in both 2014 and 2016.
With Rebecca’s previous training knowledge and the experience and knowledge from the yachts, she makes a lovely addition to the training team here at The Crew Academy. Becs specialises in Interior Excellence and Complete Interior Course.


ChristopheCOCKTAILS RECOMMENDED TRAINER: Christophe Gournay

Christophe Gournay, French born and grown, has worked in a number of local establishments before upgrading to a 4-star hotel in Switzerland for a Dutch group as development manager. While travelling Cannes he fell under the charm of La Mirabelle for its authenticity and ardent character, and bought the restaurant in 2007.
Christophe knows almost all the secrets and offers all year round in France, different varieties that fluctuate according to the seasons, particularity in old town Cannes, Le Suquet.
He is a well-seasoned bartender, behind his own cocktail bar in the lower room, to match the menu, impress the guests and have your tongue dancing, he concocts legendary beverages as his own creations which are original, wonderful and divine. Among these, the DD, a blend of wedding bridal tea, rum Havana Club, Cointreau and a maple syrup trait for example.


FredricWSET II RECOMMENDED TRAINER: Frederic Vigroux

Frédéric is a French sommelier consultant, holder of the WSET Diploma since 2017 and Certified Wine Educator for WSET Level 1 to 3. Specialised in French wines, he shares his time between Paris and Bucharest where he teaches WSET at Level 1, 2 ,3 in several wine schools and train people from the Horeca industry. He also advises restaurants in their wine selection and pricing, and deal with the purchasing management of NumberWine, the wine import company he founded in 2013.
He tastes about 2500 wines per year and visits the main wine fairs (Pro Wein, Vinitaly, Vinexpo, London Wine fair, and Romanian GoodWine fair), and source wines for private people.


SachiCONSULTANT: Sachiko Katsurada

Sachi from “Sachi Flowers” is a florist based in Cannes. She has studied flower art in Japan and practiced in Japan and Montreal. Following her move to France in 2007, she worked in prestigious and popular flower boutiques in Cannes for 5 years and then began working as a freelance florist. “Sachi Flowers’ works for the film festival, events, hotels, weddings and yachts on the French Riviera as well as being a PYA floral trainer. Her arrangements are original and meticulous with a refined Japanese influence, but they also encompass the classic, vintage, modern and Provençal styles.
She has worked internationally as a florist for 13 years after working for Japan Airlines. Because of her background in luxury hospitality, she understands how important it is that flowers should be perfect on luxury yachts and which variety and styles are best suited for each. She loves sharing her floristry knowledge and the maintenance techniques to help make the crews life easier when making the boat perfect for their guests and owners stay. This is why she became PYA guest floral trainer. Sachi loves to share her knowledge and experience and has trained over 150 Crew Academy Students on our previous Yacht Service Level 1,2 & 3 courses and now is a wonderful feature of our Complete Interior and Interior Excellence courses.


HannahCONSULTANT: Hannah Lunn

Hannah is a Wine Consultant for Vins Sans Frontières, a leading supplier of fine wines and spirits to the yachting industry. Certified to WSET Level 3 and eager to start the Diploma she is extremely passionate about wine and loves nothing more than passing this on to others. After four and a half years cutting her teeth in the London Wine Trade as a Purchasing and Logistics Manager she is now in her element; surrounded by good wine and beautiful vineyards on the French Riviera.


Alex MakeupCONSULTANT: Alexandra O’Connell

Alex has a huge passion for makeup and has been working in the makeup industry now for 6 years. She has been trained by one of the top makeup schools in the industry Makeup Forever Paris, who are part of the LVMH (LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE) family. After training with Makeup Forever Paris, she then went on to work for another leading Make up brand Benefit Cosmetics, while also working free lance at the Cannes Film Festival and along the Cote D’azur for high end photoshoots and clients etc. She has an extensive range of skills and looks, starting from simple everyday looks, bridal, cultured and SFX looks Alex is an ideal Makeup artist and beauty trainer as she has perfected her skills for makeup, beauty and beauty hygiene and facial waxing over the years.
