Barista

Overview

This highly interactive course simplifies the principles of coffee-making, providing every participant with the ability to make and present the perfect cup of coffee.

Developed and delivered by an industry expert specifically for The Crew Academy, the course takes into account the factors involved in operating a coffee machine on board a superyacht and provides delegates with the essentials required to master technique as well as clean and maintain equipment.

Delegates are also taken through the various types of tea and tea service to cater for different tastes from around the world. Hot chocolate preparation is also explored.

The practical element of this Course is thought by Marco Arrigo who is a strong head trainer for Illy Coffee and has been with Illy for 20 years.

Course Outlines

This 2-DAY intensive course provides an intensive but fun foundation of barista training, from cleaning through to espresso and milk frothing. Through practical demonstration, students are taught to deliver consistent quality whilst operating quickly in order to produce numerous hot drinks at the same time.

Latte art is taught using simple tactics to break down language barriers and help with consistency.

Key Outcomes

The day is designed for delegates to develop technique, discover their individual signatures and learn to improve on their own as soon as they return to work.

Delegates may attend a follow-up refresher course after applying their skills onboard for at least one month. Please enquire about this course.

Price

Price €499 for 2018 courses including all training material. Number of delegates per course is minimum 4 and maximum 10 to ensure optimal learning results.
