A New Strategy

The Crew Academy was founded a decade ago solely to provide administrative training to yacht crew pursers and service training to mid-level interior crew.

Covid has created the most significant impact on yachting since the industry boom in the 1990s and as such we had to make fundamental changes to our business and to the way we deliver our courses.

This shift from our standard residential land-based courses back in 2019 to Zoom & Platform based courses throughout 2021 meant that to move forward and create new learning pathways for our students we had to rethink our strategy and look at increasing our other non-core educational content that did not require practical elements to the training but focused on the softer skills-based courses.

Fully Interactive E-Learning

As a result, we can now offer a comprehensive range of fully-accredited Yacht courses and over 150 modular Corporate E-Courses running 24 hrs a day.

Yacht crew at all levels have been looking to upskill themselves and their teams with professional leadership training, delivered online and for far less investment than traditional onboard programs and we now have four tiers of leadership training to suit any crew member.

From introductory courses to HOD-tier courses and finally to our iconic Command level program covering subjects as diverse as Communication, Conflict, Collaboration, Motivation, Engagement, Coaching and thinking skills and a whole host of other topics that are more relevant today than they have ever been.

Alongside our traditional service, housekeeping, cigars, barista, and mixology courses sit our new, short-module courses that cover subjects as diverse as Accounting, Recruitment & Retention, VAT, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Human Vulnerability, Cyber Security, HR, Maritime Law, Mental Health, Suicide prevention, Addiction & Recovery, Gambling, Software by Voly, Deepblue, Total Super Yacht, PinPointWorks and Microsoft and hundreds of others.
